Children can experience many of the same orthopedic problems that adults do.<\/p><p>Such conditions may involve painful movement in the:<\/p><ul><li>Back and neck<\/li><li>Shoulder, elbow, arm, and hand<\/li><li>Hip and knee<\/li><li>Ankle and foot<\/li><\/ul><h1>Common Causes<\/h1><p>Pediatric orthopedic conditions can occur for a variety of reasons, including injury, poor posture, weakness in certain muscle groups, developmental delays, and more. Our therapists have years of experience evaluating and treating patients with pediatric orthopedic conditions.<\/p><h1>Common Conditions<\/h1><ul><li><strong>Sports injuries<\/strong>: Children are very active, and a large part of their growth involves participating in sports. However, injuries can sometimes occur during physical activity. From mild ankle sprains to more serious injuries and fractures, a child may need pediatric physical therapy to recover properly and return safely to normal play or sports activities. That\u2019s where we can help.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>Scoliosis<\/strong>: Children with moderate to severe scoliosis often require more intervention than physical therapy alone. Bracing is common for moderate scoliosis. In milder cases, however, physical therapy may be sufficient. A physical therapist can also coordinate care and adjust treatment intensity for moderate to more severe cases.<\/li><\/ul><h1>How Pediatric Therapy Helps<\/h1><p>Our pediatric physical therapists and occupational therapists routinely help children with orthopedic conditions as well as recovery after sports injuries.
